Sandeep Lamichhane, the captain of the Nepali national cricket team, has been suspended from the national cricket team as soon as an arrest warrant has been issued to investigate the crime of coercion.
Nepal cricket team skipper Sandeep Lamichhane finds himself embroiled in major controversy over allegations of raping a minor. The incident came to light after the victim, aged 17, lodged a police complaint at the Kathmandu police station against the star cricketer. Sandeep Lamichhane is currently playing in the Caribbean Premier League.
His first international breakthrough came when he became the first cricketer from his country to play in the Indian Premier League when he made his debut for the Delhi Capitals franchise in 2018.
